The Wild Orchard, Clapton
This large residential garden in Clapton features plum, pear, and cherry trees underplanted with a woodland scheme of ornamental grasses and perennials. A new pond, designed and excavated by Wilder, is now a thriving habitat for local wildlife.
We worked with a palette of natural materials throughout this build. Using brick, timber, and gravel to create an enclosed seating area by the house for morning coffees; and a raised dining space at the rear of the garden for al-fresco dining and entertaining.
We also brought in design elements from a recent interior design – lime-washed walls and basket-weave patterns – to ensure the garden tastefully echoed the house.
What the client says
"Theo and Ethan consulted, designed and re-built our garden. It went from an over-grown horror show to an amazing space to work or relax in. They were professional in every aspect of the process taking on board any thoughts we had and incorporating them very cleverly into the design. They were respectful of the plants that were already there, and very knowledgeable about what plants would thrive in which part of the garden. Their approach to the garden design also maximised the benefit to the local wildlife, which we particularly liked; and we’ve seen a massive increase in the diversity of bees, insects and birds that now use our garden. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a full garden re-design, or work in general on their garden."
